Beverley Driver Trainers TIR To Showcase New Simulator

Beverley-based national driving trainer TIR are taking their show on the road to exhibit at the industry’s premier exhibition.

TIR Training Services Ltd, of Waltham House, Riverview Road, have doubled the size of their stand at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show, held at the NEC in Birmingham from Tuesday 12 to Thursday 14 April.

At the show, TIR will launch its brand new training simulator, which is at the cutting edge of training technology

The main benefit of TIR ‘s Transim VSIV simulator is its mobility, meaning TIR can take the simulator to its clients rather than needing them to travel to Beverley.

The simulator will allow drivers to experience all kinds of driving environments – including the most extreme weather conditions possible.

Drivers featured in hit Discovery Channel documentary Ice Road Truckers use the simulator for their often terrifying driving conditions.

TIR’s commercial manager Tim Watson said: “It can help with many techniques which drivers will rarely encounter in day-to-day driving, including roll-over avoidance and what to do during a blow-out.”

The TIR stand (4G80) at the CV Show will take be in the form of a mobile classroom with two simulators.

The company has been involved in driver training since 2000.

Originally an LGV driving school, TIR now provides total training solutions to the logistics industry from driver qualifications including the nationally recognised NVQ levels 2 & 3, to National and International CPC.

TIR’s clients include Wincanton and Morrisons.
