The Ice Man Returns as Molescroft Earn Place in Final

On Thursday night Molescroft progressed to the final of the Junior Country Cup and a tie against Dunnington out of the York Premier league with a hard fought victory against Bridlington Sports club Old Boys.

Moley were under the cosh for long periods of the game but a monumental defensive display by the whole team, after nicking a one goal lead 30 mins in was enough to see the County League outfit home and hosed.  The goal came via Tony “ice man” Walker who had to later go off injured after a bad challenge from the Brid Centre back.

This was no means a vintage performance but was a great result especially after two games earlier in the week leaving many of the team walking wounded by the end of the match.

Molescroft have no time to enjoy the success as they were straight back into league action on Saturday against top of the league Wawne Ferry a game they lost 1- 0.

Final Score: Molescroft Rangers 1 Bridlington Sports Club Old Boys 0
