Morrell: Teamwork Will Be Key To Beverley Town CC Success

Beverley Town CC pace ace Alex Morrell believes his side can enjoy a season to remember – if the entire team pulls together.

Morrell enjoyed a successful season in the top flight of the York and District Senior League last year, picking up 26 wickets at an average of just under 30, playing mostly on the flat, batsman-friendly Norwood Recreation Ground.

This included two five wicket hauls, his best return being 5-32.

Now with Peter Groves back to help him open the attack and the return of Ollie Grantham, Morrell is confident there is enough depth in the first XI squad to push the league’s big guns all the way.

He told HU17.net: “This season has seen the return of a couple of players and the addition of a couple of others.

“Everybody is very confident that this season will be a big season for Beverley.

“With the team we have it can be successful, as long as we work hard as a team.

“All four teams are looking strong and are setting themselves high targets for the season.”
