Hodgsons boss Lee Hastings has already cranked up the pressure on local rivals Beverley Town after his side clinched the Humber Premier League Division One title tonight.
A proud Hastings watched on in delight as goals from Shaun Gibson and Danny Cartwright sealed a deserved 2-0 victory over a battling Long Riston side.
It made it back-to-back promotions for The Tanners and they can now look forward to challenging established Beverley Town as the top team in Beverley next season in the Humber Premier League Premier Division.
Hastings was keen to celebrate with his successful side, but he took time out to have a quick word with HU17.net, crank up the local rivalry – and declare himself East Yorkshire’s answer to Jose Mourinho.
He exclusively told HU17.net: This is absolutely tremendous – back-to-back titles and Premier League here we come. Watch out Beverley Town!
“I am lost for words to be honest. It’s not often you can take a team all through the leagues like this. I must be the special one.”
