Beverley RUFC 2nd XV claimed the Merit League title coming from behind to beat Malton and Norton in a pulsating final.
Beverley RUFC who at one point were 16 – 3 battled hard and found themselves take a 28 – 20 lead. Malton then added a try closing the gap to just three points.
The beavers however secured the title with penalty that was kicked by Jamie Gill to ensure it was Beverley who lifted the shield.
Ian Archibald captain of the side said:
“It is a great achievement for the squad as a whole. James Graham picked up were he left off and was immense.”
