Rushby Shows Determination To Bounce Back In Style

Jordan Rushby returned to Darley Moor on Bank Holiday, hoping to get back to his winning ways after been unable to start his last race of the day at Cadwell Park, the Sunday before due to mechanical problems.

The team had worked hard all week getting the bike repaired and ready for the days racing.

Jordan had been entered into three races over the Bank Holiday and was looking forward to getting back on the podium. Morning qualifying went well with Jordan taking fourth position on the starting grid out of 17 riders, his best grid position so far.

Jordan didn’t get a very good start off the line in the first race, and going into the first corner dropped several places but over the next two laps Jordan managed to battle through the field back up to 4th place and set a new personnel best lap time of 1min 15 seconds, which is three seconds under his previous best time. Jordan kept his position and finished fourth in race One.

For Race Two we decided to change the bike gearing to give Jordan a bit more drive down the straights.

Jordan got a better start in Race Two and held onto his fourth place going into the first corner.

He managed to maintain his lap times and was lapping consistently in 1min 15seconds per lap. He  kept pushing hard and brought his bike over the line in third place.

Jordan’s third and final race of the day was the Newcomers Handicap with a grid of 25 riders on 125cc machines up to 1000cc machines.

There were 4 125cc machines on the front row of the grid with Jordan in pole position due to his finishes in the previous day’s other 2 races.

Jordan’s group of 125cc Aprilias set off first with the next group of larger engined machines setting off 30 seconds later.

Into the first corner Jordan was in last place and approximately 20 bike lengths behind the leader, but by the end of the first lap Jordan had pulled a lead on the other Aprilias, which he kept until the race was red flagged and stopped due to a crash.

The race had to be re-started with all riders having to make their way back to their grid positions.

This time Jordan got off to his best start of the day leading from start to finish, with only 13 of the much higher-powered machines managing to pass and overtake Jordan before the chequered flag.

Big thanks to all Jordan’s sponsors and to those who helped during the week to get Jordan back racing and to making the podium twice.
