Late Penalty Ends Tickton’s Unbeaten Run

AFC Tickton went into this game on a run of 5 games unbeaten, however today that run came to an end, when Priory panthers snatched a late penalty and win the game 2-1.

Both teams started brightly in the first half, but neither team could get the upper hand in the first 45 minutes as both teams were evenly matched.

In the second half Priory panthers broke the dead lock to go one nil up, Tickton had to push for an equalizer and with 20 minutes to go, Joe Hunsley was in the right place to smash the ball home.

It looked like both teams would settle for a draw, but in the final few minutes Priory panthers were awarded a penalty when Tickton defender Charlie Hargreaves brought down the Priory player on the edge of the box, Priory penalty taker made no mistake putting the ball low into the right hand corner.

As soon as the game restarted the referee blew his whistle and brought the game and Tickton’s 5 game unbeaten run to an end.
