Beverley Town 3rds Stutter To Losing Draw

It was a chastening day for Beverley Town Cricket Club 3rd XI at the Norwood Recreation Ground on Saturday.

They were comprehensively outplayed by visitors Sutton On Hull CC, who eased to a winning draw to effectively win by 85 runs.

Adam Nicholson was the pick of the home bowlers, picking up 4-41 off 10 overs in a rain-reduced 40 over clash. Other solid performances came from Kieran O’Brian (2-32) and Paul Fleming (2-14).

Beverley never really got going in reply and lost Rob Wicks for one with the score on just four.

Ali Brumfield went for 11 and despite 29 from Paul Best, the scoring rate stuttered to a halt and they closed on just 108-8 from their 40 overs.
