Hundreds of young athletes showed the future of middle distance running is bright in Beverley and East Yorkshire today.
The town’s young runners turned out in force for the B&A Scaffolding 2k Fun Run, which took place in the grounds of Beverley Leisure Centre, ahead of the Hall Construction Beverley 10k.
Beverley Athletic Club runners were to the fore in the race, with Jessica Chapman, who was named talented performer this week at the Sport and Play Recognition Awards run by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, finishing second junior woman home.
A big crowd of parents and friends enjoyed the race, which also saw Hull City mascot Roary The Tiger and the Beverley Beaver take part.
