Derbyshire Premier League high-flyers Chesterfield gave Beverley Town CC a kicking at the Norwood Recreation Ground on Sunday.
They eased their way to a massive 136-run victory and moved into the next round of the ECB National Club Championship.
It was always going to be a tough ask for Beverley, but they were really made to toil as Chesterfield racked up a mighty 334-8 off their 45 overs.
The big runs came from opener Ben Slater, who hit 106 off just 72 balls, but the spectacular came from Drage Thompson, the visiting keeper hitting 69 off just 33 deliveries.
Anthony Spence did claim more than respectable figures towards the end for Beverley, finishing 4-40 off nine overs.
Spence was also Beverley’s top man with the bat, hitting 46, but his side were well behind the run rate all the way through.
Faisal Abid hit 43, but Beverley were dismissed for 198 with two balls remaining.
