Entries are now being taken for one of the biggest and best sporting events in Beverley.
The Mike Gaden Football Fives is held every year in honour of former Beverley Town FC player Mike Gaden, who died in 1999.
Hundreds of players and fans attend the event in Mike’s honour, and the atmosphere is second to none. The football isn’t bad either!
Last year’s winners were Athletico, under the guidance of Gavin Northern, who beat St Georges on penalties.
Beverley RUFC’s own side put in the shock performance of last year’s competition, beating previous champions 8 Star 1–0.
This year’s competition is being sponsored by Riverview Gym, of Phoenix House, Grovehill Road, and takes place on Sunday, 26 June, at Beverley Rugby Club.
Cost of entry is £15 per team, with each team able to field a squad of seven players.
