Street Beatz Hit The Heights At National Championships

Beverley’s Street Beatz Dance School returned with a successful haul from the National Street Dance championships in Sussex.

The young dancers showed skill, talent and flair to come away with some of the top awards from an event which attracted dance schools from across the UK.

In some of the categories, Beverley dancers had to go against up to 70 or 80 fellow competitors but they more than held their own and claimed some superb team and solo results.

The top result of the day came from the under 14s team ‘Scribble’, who won in their age group, while the under 10s team ‘Blush’ finished second in their competition.

Street Beatz Dance School coach Clare Moran said the great results were down to the effort and commitment of her young proteges.

Clare told HU17.net: “I am extremely proud of my girls for what they have achieved.

“They have worked so hard both in training and also fundraising to get us to the competition.

“All their hard work paid off in the end and it was fantastic that they did so well.

“It is nice to see local dancers be recognised for their talent.

“There were up to 70-80 kids in some categories so they did really well.”

There were many duos and solo dancers who also achieved great things.

There were second place finishes for Poppy Coates and Jade Megson in the under 10s duo, Abigail Cohen and Sophie Madin in the under 8s duo,and Imogen Wright and Yemurai Zvaraya in the under 14s duo,
