Visitors from Beverley’s twin town of Lemgo were presented with a framed photograph of the Syntan Barge before they ended their visit to the town recently.
Officials and other members of the twinning group enjoyed an entertaining trip to East Yorkshire, including a trip down Beverley Beck on The Beverley Barge Preservation Society’s restored barge The Syntan.
Among the visitors was Lemgo’s Mayor, Burgermeister Dr Reiner Austermann, as well as members of the German town’s fire service, who have close links with their Beverley counterparts.
Following the presentation, the Lemgo visitors were given a tour of Beverley’s historic Guildhall before enjoying a traditional English Carvery at The Tiger Inn.
