Recruitment Day for Volunteers

Dove House Hospice, a charity caring for people with life limiting illnesses in Hull and the East Riding, is appealing for new volunteers by holding a recruitment day at the retail store in Beverley, Dyer Lane on Thursday 26th May.

Dove House is always on the lookout for volunteers with a variety of skill sets. Currently, the local charity is appealing for new volunteers to help in the running of the Beverley, Dyer Lane store, helping with sorting donations, serving customers and displaying goods.

Sylvia Dent, Volunteer Services Manager, said:

“Volunteering is also a great way to add extra experience to your CV and allows you to show you have used your time if you are currently looking for paid employment. Our shops are also a fantastic place to pick up transferable skills such as handling money and customer service”

Dove House Hospice provides specialist palliative care to people with all types of life limiting illnesses. The hospice opened in 1983 and has become a core part of health provision in the region, with the specified aim of helping patients and families live life to the full.

Anyone interested in coming to the volunteer’s recruitment day is welcome to pop in to the Beverley, Dyer Road shop and talk about the opportunities available.

Alternatively you can either call Volunteers Services on 01482 784343, email volunteers@dovehouse.org.uk or visit our website www.dovehouse.org.uk for more information.

  1. I have recently started doing some voluntary work at one of the Dove House shops and i love every moment of it. I work on the shop floor and also sort donations from customers ready for us to sell on. Doing this work has kept my customer service skills fresh and im also learning new skills.

Definately would advise anyone with some spare time to pop along to one of the shops and enquire about volunteering.
