Licence Granted As Armed Forces Day Draws Closer

Arrangements for Beverley Armed Forces Day are all-but finalised.

Chairman David Elvidge has confirmed to HU17.net the final stumbling block for the Sunday 3 July event – the licence – has been overcome.

Councillor Elvidge said: “The parade will follow the same format as in previous years and will led by the Band of The Prince of Wales Division.

“I already have agreement from the Sea Cadets, ACF and ATC of their participation. I also look forward to seeing many of our veterans marching into the Town.

“The main military presence on the day will be elements of A Company 4 Yorks and QOY.

“East Riding of Yorkshire Council have agreed road closures, etc and the Police Community Team are able to assist with road closures, etc.

“The musical programme has been agreed by performers, while programmes and flyers are at the printers, and proofs should be out next week.”

Beverley Armed Forces Day: July 3rd 2011, 9am to 5pm
