Young Beverley lad Connor O’Hara has a head full of stubble following his sponsored head shave at Sessions today (Friday 10 June).
The determined 11-year-old, who has wanted to be a hairdresser since he was three, lost his grandfather to bowel cancer five years ago.
Every Christmas Day the family visit the grave and take a small gift.
This is year, as Connor’s mum Amanda told HU17.net, Connor wanted to do something a bit more special.
She said: “Connor shared the interest of music with his grandad and they where very close. Last year Connor asked me if from Christmas day he could grow his hair and have it shaved the day before we go on holiday in June.
“He wanted to do this to raise money for the bowel cancer unit at Castle Hill Hospital.
“I said that would be a lovely thing to do and agreed for him to do it.”
Connor raised an amazing total £173 for the bowl cancer unit.
