Moutain Rescue Team Volunteer To Help In Search For David Huitson

Humberside Police are continuing to search for missing 62-year-old Pocklington man David Huitson.

Mr Huitson, of Springfield Road in Pocklington, was last seen by his family at approximately 1430hrs on Monday 13 June when he left the address to go for a walk. Worried family contacted the police shortly before 1900hrs after he failed to return home.

He suffers from Parkinson’s Disease which requires regular medication and his physical health will significantly decline if he does not take his medication.

Swaledale Mountain Rescue have volunteered to assist and will be accompanying police officers in searching the fields around Wheatland Close before moving onto farmland near Burnby Lane, Pocklington.

The community are also supporting specialist police officers by volunteering to assist in other areas around the town.

Police are still appealing for a man who told a fellow dog walker of a sighting at Allerthorpe Woods yesterday morning (Thursday 16 June 2011). Despite a search of this area it has proved negative.

He is described as white, 5ft 9ins tall, stocky build, with short, straight black hair. When last seen he was wearing a light grey coloured, long sleeved jumper, dark grey jogging bottoms and black shoes with Velcro fastenings.

Posters have also been produced and are being distributed in Pocklington and residents in the area are being reminded to search their sheds, garages or out buildings for any sign of Mr Huitson and asked to report any possible sightings to police.
