Two excellent innings from Greg Whyley and Tom Norton laid the foundations for Beverley Town CC under 13s’ defeat of Cottingham in the third round of the ECB Club Knockout at the Norwood Recreation Ground.
Batting first the pair both retired on 32 and then some more excellent batting, this time from Tommy Hudson (26), took Beverley to a formidable total of 129-6 off 20 overs.
Beverley were equally good with the ball and in the field, and they restricted Cottingham to just 81-9 off their allotted overs for a 48-run victory.
Pick of the bowlers for Beverley were Kieran Simpson (1-5 off 3), Lewis Richardson (2-4 off 2) and Hudson again (2-13 off 4).
