Salt Bins Provides Peace Of Mind For Residents

Elderly residents on Duesbury Close, Beverley, will not have to suffer dangerous conditions this winter.

Beverley Town Council have placed a new salt bin on Duesbury Close after town councillors agreed to provide extra salt bins for residents following last winter’s bitter conditions.

St Mary’s East Ward councillor David Elvidge said it was important that the more vulnerable members of his ward received this help.

He told HU17.net: “I suggested Duesbury Close. As a warden-controlled area at the back of the Durham Ox it has a higher than average number of residents who are retired and suffer with impaired mobility.

“The salt bin is now in place and although I hope we don’t need it, I would suggest the residents there are a lot happier knowing if needed they have that provision.”
