Beverley Town CC 4th XI were soundly hammered on Saturday.
They crashed to a disappointing 130-run defeat at home to Patrington CC 2nd XI in their EYCA Division One clash.
Kieran Thompson made an early breakthrough for Beverley, removing visiting opener Mark Todd promptly for a duck.
A big partnership between Connor McKinley (46) and Adrian Critchley, who finished unbeaten on 119, set them back on target before another flourish of wickets – including three ducks in a row – looked to have tamed Patrington.
However, another big partnership saw the visitors post a big total of 237-6 off their 44 overs. Matthew Novis finished with 4-59 for Beverley.
In reply, only skipper Richard Thompson showed any fight. He hit 54 – more than half his side’s total – but no one else made double figures for the home side as they crashed to 107 all out.
