Beverley 4ths Suffer At Hands Of Moss

Typhon Moss blew threw the Norwood Recreation Ground to mete out a real battering to Beverley Town CC 4ths.

Cottingham CC 1st XI’s Danny Moss smashed a rapid, unbeaten 124 as his side cruised to their target of 194 with, racing to 196-2 off just 32.2 overs.

It was a tough experience for the home side’s bowlers, especially as Alan Hammond had made an early breakthrough to dismiss opener Liam James. The only other wicket to fall went to Matthew Novis.

Beverley had posted what seemed to reasonable target, despite a good pitch and quick outfield.

Batting star for Beverley was Richard Thompson, who hit 89 from number one for his best knock of the season so far.

Only keeper Richard Simpson (40) could really offer him any great support and a flourish of late wickets slowed them down as they posted their score of 193-8. Seemingly challenging, but not as it proved.
