Cherry Burton Twins To Open Beverley Attraction

Twin sisters from Cherry Burton have been invited to open this year’s Beverley Maze after winning a ‘Find the name of the clown’ competition at the popular attraction last year.

14 year old Ailsa and Hazel Collar will help the Maze’s mascot ‘Bob the Cob’ to officially open the maze on Saturday 23rd July.

Opening for the first time last year, Beverley Maze attracted around 10,000 visitors over the six week holiday period and owner and farmer John Clappison is hoping that this year’s ‘Bee a Hero’ themed Maze will prove equally popular.

John said;

“We’re really grateful to Ailsa and Hazel for agreeing to open this year’s Maze.  In addition to the Maze and the play area, we have planned a series of special events including a Dog Agility Day with East Yorkshire Dog Agility Club, a Honey Bee Day, an interactive day with Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and a charity night for Dove House Hospice’s Love You 2 Appeal on 21st August, so it should be a fun filled summer!”

Beverley Maze is situated at Park Farm, Risby, just off the A164 between Willerby and Beverley. Ailsa and Hazel will open the Maze at 10am on Saturday 23rd July and it will provide healthy, educational entertainment for all ages every day until Sunday 4th September.

In addition to the bee shaped maze with fun quiz trail and look-out towers, there will be a play area with go-karts, trampoline, mini digger, bouncy slide and coin operated quad bikes.  Refreshments and ice cream will also be available.

The maze will be open between 10am and 5.30pm and admission costs £6.00 per adult and £5.00 for children 3-15 and senior citizens.  Under 3’s and wheelchair users are free and a family ticket costs £20.00.
