East Riding’s Year 6 pupils should be proud of their outstanding results in the recent Key Stage 2 examinations, says Graham Stuart, MP for Beverley and Holderness.
East Riding’s results, which were released this week, put the Local Authority in the top 20% in the UK with 78% of students achieving level 4 and above in both English and Mathematics. This is a 5% improvement since 2009.
“I am very pleased to hear that there has been an improvement in results across English and maths in the East Riding this year,” Graham said.
He added: “The hard work of pupils, teachers and heads has really paid off.”
“Everyone should be extremely proud of these results, and I wish all of the county’s dedicated pupils the best of luck as they continue their education.
“I hope we will see further improvements in the years to come.”
