Tribfest 2011 East Yorkshire biggest music festival not only includes top quality Tribute acts but further marquees for both Folk and Unsigned acts from across the country.
Over the weekend of August 19th – 21st music fans should take the opportunity to check out the Unsigned Acts as well as the main stage performers as some very promsing bands from across the country are on display at the festival at Beverley Polo club.
The line up includes a number of acts who are making a name for themselves in music circles and in 12 months some of these could become the next big thing
The Line up from Friday evening till Sunday evening comprises:
Streaming Lights,, British Racing Green, Ysabelle Wombwell & The Reigning Geese, The Holy Orders, The Boobytraps, Emelle, Greenwood Park, The 10:04s, Eat Dr. Ape, RedCells, Reluctant Heroes, Craig Meehan & The Sexy Offenders, The Gary Armstrong Band, New Light Brigade, Shadow Thieves, The Beautiful Game (pictured above) and the Kugan Sukas
Just some of the highlights include.
Streaming Lights are Hull’s newest and currently the hottest act to hit the national psyche. With an undeniable dance groove they bring an explosive edge to the traditional guitar/bass/drums power trio. Formed just one year ago, they are now enjoying regular rotation on both local and national radio
British Racing Green are really starting to kick up a buzz. Switching seamlessly between raucous, Stooges-like Rock’n’Roll and melodic guitar-weaving Indie, Make sure you grasp any opportunity to see them before they go stellar.
The Holy Orders listen to a lot of music. Some of that music is dirty. Some of that music is beautiful. Some of that music is deviant. When The Holy Orders make music, all of this is apparent.
The Holy Orders are currently promoting their debut album – For The Ears Of Dogs To Come.
The BoobyTraps have been described as the biggest thing to come out of Leicester since Kasabian. They have made significant inroads on the Midlands Music Scene. they’re an indie firestorm to keep an eye on for big things in future.
The 10:04′s hail from Edinburgh, and with their unique indie/punk sound have quickly established themselves as one of the top unsigned acts in Scotland. In the last year they’ve supported Razorlight, Idlewild, The View, British Sea Power, Ash plus many others.
Reluctant Heroes are from the West Midlands and heavily influenced by The Futureheads, The Who and a variety of alternative punk bands, Reluctant Heroes convey an incomparable style and flaunt a raw, exciting energy. They continue to push new boundaries: with a new release due in 2012, Tribfest could be your last opportunity to see them anywhere but a stadium.
Craig Meehan & the Sexy Offenders met up on the Wedding and Bar Mitzvah circuit and bonded over a shared interest in vanilla slices. Following the spontaneous combustion of several drummers and one kazooist, the surviving members decided to headline Glastonbury. Failing in this, they instead acquired a vocalist and have subsequently played some great shows. See them. They’re interesting.
New Light Brigade are a pop/rock group hailing from Hull & Leeds. Mostly up-tempo with a refreshing originality, traces of REM & Snow Patrol occasionally filter through their soundscape. ‘Daily Play’, a massively catchy pop anthem receives regular airplay on BBC Radio Humberside
Indie-Rockers the Beautiful Game hail from North London/Camden. Signature track “Getting by but Only Just” featured on The Best of Myspace Chart, winning song of the week. It was favourably reviewed by James Theaker of NME Radio
Dave Elf of Africa Studios runs this stage and is excited by the line-up “The Unsigned Marquee is going to be dynamite. We’ve gone national this year, but we have still kept the cream of the local crop of bands.
Check out this talent when you are at the festival next year some of these could be big names.”
Tribfest is held August 19th – 21st at the Beverley Polo Club at Tickton. 21 top tribute acts will be performing on the main stage and there will also be further marquees for folk acts, unsigned bands & comedy.
