Braves Victorious Against Titans

Beverley Braves Under 9’s travelled to Hull Victoria Titans and came away with a hard fought win. Thanks go to Tom Marr and Ryan Deane assisting the home team in the first half and Joe Dennis and Tom Colley in the second half.

The Braves started with the ball but failed to complete their set of six, something that was to occur on several occasions in the first half. This provided the improved Titans chance to show what they could do. Beverley were made to defend their mistakes, with all the team putting in one of their best defensive stints of the season.

Beverley managed to break the deadlock when Dylan English’s quick thinking found the gap out wide after some great forward drives from man of the match William Sandford , Tom Colley and Matthew Hutchinson.

English almost got his second after intercepting a pass and sprinting for the line only to be stopped by a great tackle from Tom Marr
Braves made it 2-0 just before the break when William Wallis shrugged off the several tackles eventually going over in the corner over after strong running from Joe Dennis, Ethan Rowbotham and Tom Sparks

The second half saw the unforced errors reduce and this allowed the Braves to start getting on top of the opposition with the hard working Egan at the centre of the braves attacks. Wallis powered over for his second try after Ryan Deane and Tom Marr had run the ball close to the line.

Titans kept at it and came close to scoring on several occasion but were stopped by the hard working Braves defence, with Lewis Egan, Ethan Rowbotham and William Snook never stopping.

William Kirkup was in danger of going the full length of the pitch before a great cover tackle from the Titans player prevented him.
The Braves 4th try was down to route 1 forward play when Tom Cohen and Matthew Madin made good yards for Matthew Hutchinson to barge his way through for the try.

Tom Cohen’s determined charge for the line while being held by several defenders produced the Braves 5th try.

Titans then broke through the Braves defence to make the final score 5-1 to the Braves.
