As previously reported in HU17.net, three youngsters (Reanna Wardill, Samantha Novis and Lucy Norton) taking part in the Lifestyle 2011 summer project have chosen to support Beverley Community Lift.
They decided upon our local community transport charity after seeing neighbour Margaret Smith getting into one of our 9 minibus vehicles as part of a regular shopping trip to the local supermarket.
As staff and trustees are very much wanting to make emphasis on the ‘community’ aspect of Beverley Community Lift, we are pleased to accept the support of these young Cool Camels!
To date, Reanna, Samantha and Lucy have raised a staggering £602.00 towards the operational delivery of our affordable and accessible transport charitable organisation. They have done this through various activities there latest being a stall in Saturday Market where 350 home-made buns and cakes sold like… well, hot cakes!
The photos show these charitably minded young people escorting Margaret onto a Sunday minibus excursion to Whitby and with our volunteer driver and other passengers enjoying a day out by sea.
We are thrilled to accept these funds from the Cool Camels and would like to publically thank them for all their efforts and hard work.
Anyone who would like further information on the range of transport services we offer (volunteer car service for health related journeys, shopping trips or local excursions or bus usage for other community events) please phone (01482) 868082 for details.
