Beverley Minster virgers are trying to help hard-pressed families enjoy August Bank Holiday Monday (29th) with special reduced and family-price trips to the top of the Minster clock tower.
The 50 metre/165 foot tall north west tower was closed to the public earlier this year as masons repaired damaged finials and stonework on the highest points but it is once more safe to climb. To mark the occasion the normal £10 per person charge has been reduced to £8, with under 16s at half price, while a family ticket (two adults, two children) will cost only £20.
Tours will include a halfway stop and guide to the Minster’s unique two-tower clock before the final ascent to the top for unrivalled views of Beverley and East Yorkshire (weather permitting, of course). The first tours will start at 9.30am and then throughout the day to suit demand.
