Flying The Checkered Flag For Beverley

As James Westmoreland was released from his Yamaha Motorpoint contract, it was left to Alex Hutchinson and Dominic Usher to fly the flag for Beverley.

Alex Hutchinson (Bike No 77) rides in the Harley-Davidson XR1200 Trophy Challenge, and came to Cadwell Park in fine form after finishing in the top six in each of his last three races. This is one of Alex’s favourite tracks so he’ll be hoping to carry on that form over the bank holiday weekend.

Dominic Usher (Bike No 14) was also representing Beverley racing in the Metzeler National Superstock 600cc Championship, Dominic’s best result has been to finish 4th while his current position before the weekend racing is =19th

In the British Super Bikes there was no James Westmoreland to make it a trio of racers from the Beverley area. But local Hull based law firm, Rapid Solicitors, is also represented in the form of their British Superbike team, Rapid Solicitors Ducati, whose riders include Michael Rutter and rider Martin Jessopp, plus sponsorship of the BSB itself.

Cadwell Park also saw another round of the Rapid Solicitors Ducati 848.

  1. After covering the BSB for HU17 over the weekend it was very sad to hear of the tragic death of racer Benjamin Gautrey who I watched on Sunday taking part in the Qualifying session of the Metzeler National Superstock 600 Championship, alongside Beverley racer Dominic Usher,
This just reminds us all who watch this exciting and thrilling sport just how dangerous motor racing is and what great risks these men and women of all ages take when they go out onto the race track.
