Beverley Town Council has pulled off another successful event with the 2011 Beverley Food Festival.
This year’s event was opened by BBC presenter Peter Levy who addressed a large crowd inside the food marquee.
After opening the event Peter Levy was give a tour by town clerk and event organiser Helen Watson.
Mayor of Beverley Peter Astelle In his programme notes the said;
“The Beverley Food Festival is an opportunity for both visitors and residents to investigate the town as a whole and sample what the town has to offer.”
“Beverley not only has a wide range of shops but is also replete with cafes, restaurants and public house, something to suite every taste.”
Aside from the large food market the event also feature food demonstrations, food floristy demonstrations and for the first times a Twin Town Challenge with German Chef Stephen Buker from our twin town of Lemgo take to the stage.
This was the sixth event held in Beverley and judging by the crowds it is still as popular as ever with locals and visitors to the town.

The guy on the pickle stall with the straw hat (picture right 6th one down) was slightly too Merry for a stall holder I thought. Too many lemonades?!
Good to see what can be accomplished when we all pull together. It would be wrong to thank any one person for putting on this event as so many contributed. So thanks to all who made this happen and all those that attended to support our event about my favourite subject food
