Hull man Carl Sadler is to head to Korea later this month to play in the World Deaf Badminton Championships sponsored by local company Cumberland Comms Ltd.
Carl has been playing the sport since the age of 12 and started for Great Britain in 1996. Since then his achievements have been numerous, including gold in men’s doubles in Switzerland 2002, a silver medal in the world games in Denmark 1997 and a silver medal from Bulgaria last year in men’s doubles with his partner Mike Buris.
The eight days of heated tournament are to take place in the city of Bucheon and the event has been described by organisers as an occasion for the deaf community to meet and demonstrate their skill and strength.
We wish Carl the best of luck.
