Mill Lane United returned back to winning ways with a 5 goal win over the visiting side Sproatley.
The game got off to a good start with some good runs down the wing from Hope Barrett providing a well deserved first goal to Isobel Gillyon. Mill Lane passed the ball well between Chloe Davidson, Millie Gray and Connie Forward and pushed forward enabling Hope Barrett to score.
Sproatley never bowed under the pressure and made some great forays of their own into Mill Lane’s half.
Connie Forward scored a third goal after a good cross into the box by Isobel Gillyon but Sproatley continued to push forward only to be denied by great goalkeeping from Alex Clark with her first turn in goal.
Isobel Gillyon then sealed the game with two further goals to get a deserved hat trick. In the second half Sproatley tightened their defence with some excellent clearances off their line and made some constructive attacking moves of their own, but good defending by Chloe Hakney, Rebecca Long and replacement substitutes Ellie MacMillan and Isabelle Dodds kept Mill Lane’s lead intact.
After a great game in midfield Chloe Davidson had to be taken off injured and the game ended with no further goals.
