Beverley Braves under nines rounded off a successful season with a presentation at Hodgsons in Beverley.
All the boys received a trophy presented by Hull Kingston Rovers new boy Graeme
Horne with further special awards handed out as follows: –
Man of Steel – For the first time this was a tie, the top player award shared between William Wallis for his try scoring exploits in particular and Ethan Rowbotham who was solid in defence all season.
Player’s player was Marcus Walker with Oliver Loney and Lewis Egan wining the second and third player’s player awards. Most improved player went to Joseph Dennis.
The voting was very close this year and there were several players who can consider themselves unlucky not to receive recognition. What is clear however is that the team looks to have a bright future and is already looking towards the new season.

Beverley Braves Rugby League club recently had their end of season presentations for their under eights.
They held their presentation at Big Fun and after a lot of running around all the squad members received a trophy and a club hoodie.
There were also special awards for a number of players: –
Parents player of the year was William Cohen who had been consistent all year, scoring 36 tries. Ellis Gaden was named Clubman of the year for making the most training sessions throughout the season and always being the first to welcome any new arrivals. Player’s player was Isaac Merryweather, his team mates realised that he never gave anything less than 100% in every minute of every game.
Most improved was shared between Bryan Usher and Adam Greenwood whilst Tom Nuttal was named player of the year as he was the most consistent player all year, a good listener, skilful, tough and fearless, he scored 20 tries and was rarely not in the top three defenders.
Coaches Craig and Neil were very grateful for their gifts on the evening and it was left to Craig to round things up by saying ‘ Wisdom is the reward you get for a lifetime of listening when you’d have preferred to talk’ .
