The burglar entered a property and stole two handbags from inside the kitchen, whilst an occupant of the property was inside.

One of the handbags is described as a black bag which contained a bronze coloured purse, family photographs, bank cards, cash and a set of keys.

The other is described as a multi coloured Bowden handbag which contained a Fossil purse and a set of keys.

Detective Sergeant Gavin Orsborne said: “We are now approaching the time of year when people will be purchasing Christmas presents and need to give extra thought to keeping their home and valuables secure.

“It only takes a matter of minutes to put your valuables such as handbags, laptops and jewellery away and just seconds to lock your door, by taking these simples steps it could stop you becoming victim to an opportunist thief.”
