Mill Lane United surrendered a slender 1-0 lead as they went in to the second half of this hard fought match against home side Goole Town.
Mill Lane captain Hope Barrett gave the visitors the lead in the first half with a clearance from Rebecca Long finding Chloe Davisson whose slick passing allowed Isobel Gillyon to cross for Barrett to score.
But Goole refused to be beaten and came out in the second half with two stunning strikes on goal that left the faultless Mill Lane goalkeeper Chloe Hakeney beaten. At the other end of the pitch an equally talented Goole goalkeeper kept Mill Lane at bay with some sensational saves from Lane strikes by Connie Forward, Isabelle Dodds and Alex Clark.
Goole must have thought that they had the game in the bag but in the last six minutes long ball clearances by defender Millie Gray released Forward to drill a pass to Isobel Gillyon to equalise 2 – 2.
Both teams continued to battle for the winning goal and in the dying seconds the incisive passing from Davison and Barrett paid off again to allow the ever present Gillyon to slot in the winner at close range.
Player of the match for Mill Lane – Chloe Davisson.
