TV gardening guru and celebrity Charlie Dimmock will open this year’s Beverley Festival of Christmas.
Charlie, who made shot to fame thanks to her hands-on approach on BBC’s Ground Force programme, is performing in panto at Bridlington Spa.
But she is taking time out from her busy schedule to pop to Beverley to open the annual event, the high spot of Beverley’s Christmas festivities.
The ceremony will take place in Wednesday Market on Sunday 11 December at 10.30am, although stalls and entertainments will begin at 8.30am. The day finishes at 4.30pm.
Once again the Beverley Festival of Christmas promises to be a fantastic day for the entire family.
There will be more than 100 stalls selling all kinds of Christmas-related gifts throughout the town.
Following Charlie and the opening of the event, there will then be a parade through the town featuring Father Christmas, reindeers,
Roary the Tiger, Charlie the Beaver and much more.
Free parking will be available at Beverley Racecourse all day, with the bus service into town costing £1 for adults and free for children.

Dimmock was on hand to launch the Big Lottery Fund’s £100 million Changing Spaces programme. The Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts (RSWT) and Groundwork UK are each being given huge partner awards of £50 million enabling communities across England to grow and use local food and to regenerate local parks and open spaces.
