Late Stonehouse Penalty Completes Tickton Comeback

AFC Tickton looked dead and buried after going into the break, two goals down, and then finding themselves three goals down midway through the second half.

Michael Ringrose managed to give Tickton a slim chance when the ball cannoned of the crossbar and rebounded into his path to slot the ball home. Not long after, a free kick taken by Charlie Hargreaves flew into the top corner with the goalkeeper well beaten, suddenly it was game on and when Tickton broke into the Costello box again the ball fell kindly for Jack Milner who made no mistake to bring the scores level with about seven minutes remaining.

Tickton continued to push to the final whistle and their efforts paid off when the referee awarded Tickton a late penalty. Connell Stonehouse made no mistake hitting the ball hard and low into the bottom left, though the keeper did get a hand to the ball it was not enough to stop Tickton taking all three points in their best comeback ever.

Final Score: Costello Wolverines 3 – 4 AFC Tickton | Pictures & Report by Paul Linton.
