The Beverley Lions lit up the Christmas tree at Market Cross on Saturday.
The Mayor of Beverley, Peter Astell and the Beverley Beaver joined Paul James of the Beverley lions for the big switch on.
A large crowd gathered to enjoy the event with music being provided by the Church Lads and Girls Brigade.
On Wednesday the it is the turn of the Beverley Christmas Lights Appeal who will be lighting up the town from 7.30pm.
