A Festive Week With The Beverley Lions

Beverley Lions Club has started the Christmas season with a number of events on behalf of the Beverley community.

The final car Boot Sale for 2011 was held on 20th November and the gift of the Christmas tree in the Market Cross was erected and decorated with lights and tinsel on 21st November. On Saturday there was the switch-on ceremony involving the Mayor, Lion’s President, St. Mary’s Junior School choir, Church lads and girl’s brigade and St. Mary’s Church clergy.

A concert in the memorial Hall for senior residents was performed by the Beverley Male Voice Choir – a superb afternoon’s entertainment.

The club presented the Memorial Hall with a replacement ‘fridge as the week’s activities drew to an end.

“Light a Candle in Memory of a Loved one” (and put a message on the tree) will be another activity to be provided for the community on Saturday and Sunday, 10th and 11th December (also 17th Dec).

With these and many other activities, the Lions club is looking for more members – if you are interested in helping those less fortunate then ourselves and the local community please look at our web-site beverleylions.org.uk or contact the President Paul James, on 01482 861839.
