Hodgsons FC got a much needed win with a 3 – 0 victory over St Andrews in the Humber Premier League.
The Tanners took the lead through Danny Cattle who giving the home side a half time lead.
In the second Ben Daniels won two headers before working his way through the St Andrews defence.
Team mate Daniel Atkinson said;
“Ben had taken some abuse from touch line, when he got one and one with the keeper and did an ‘Ali Shuffle’ before scoring, I could not believe what I was seeing!”
The final goal came from Rob Northern who somehow headed home from the tightest of angles.
This win is vital for the Tanners, Danny Piwinski who played the full 90 minutes said;
“It felt good out there today, we knew we needed to win and that is what we did.”
“The next few months will be hard though we are all focused as a team and are determined to stay up.”
The Tanners are now just two points off safety, they return to Humber Premier League action next weekend when they host North Ferriby United Reserves at Longcroft School.
