Entertainments Galore @ Armstrongs Social Club

Armstrongs Social Club will continue to be one of the best venues in the area as they line up a series of entertaining nights in the New Year.

It’s most popular weekly night is the Rock N Roll Club, which offers fantastic music as well as the chance to learn how to dance with the best in the form of inexpensive lessons ahead of the main event.

The first gig of the year is next Friday (27 January) when the ever-popular Fast Eddy and The Jive Machine make an appearance.

Cost of entry is £8 and dancing lessons cost just £1 with Eileen, from Rayners Rock N Roll Club and Hessle Jive Club.

Lessons start at 7pm with the main evening geting underway at 8pm. Guests can pay on the door.

Next month sees a 70s theme night with ABBA tribute band Chick-A-Tita and a disco until late. It’s on Saturday 25 February starting at 8pm. Cost of entry is free for members and £2 on the door for non-members.

Fancy dress is encouraged and entry and raffle proceeds will fo to the charity Cardiac Risk In The Young (CRJ).

A charity night is also being held for CRJ – under the auspices of the Johnathon Leigh Memorial Fund – with more details to come soon.

The next live music event after this is DR Jive on March 10. It’s bound to be a popular event and tickets are available now, £1 for members and £3 for non members.

Manager Sally-Ann Rena said: “As you can see, we are really trying to market our events to the local community not just the members of the Club, especially due to the demoplition and caos surrounding our site at the moment.

“We want the people of Beverley to know that new members are always welcome and anyone wanting info or membership, please call the club on 01482882999 or pop in and meet us.”
