Rangers Come Back From The Death To Clinch Point

Molescroft Rangers proved they still have a lot to offer in the East Riding County League.

Gaffer James Healey looked on in horror as he was his side fall four goals behind to championship contenders St Georges.

Dean Fletcher got a brace while Dean Ness and Mark Thompson grabbed a goal apiece as St Georges threatened to rack up a cricket score.

Just before the break Rangers were given a lifeline after Darren Spruce scored from close range. A stern talking to at half saw the Rangers raise their game Sam Dixon, Mike Nicholson and another from Darren spruce ensure the home earned a vital point.

Healey said after the game;

“This was a match a of two half’s, they hammered us but we got the lads in at half time had a word and they responded in the best way possible.”

“I am disappointed we did not get all three points, we deserved them.”

St Georges David Hought told HU17.net;

“I thought we had that one won, you have to take your hat off to rangers and the spirit they showed in coming back.”

Elsewhere in the East Riding County League Hodgsons FC Reserves title aspirations took a massive blow as they suffered a 5 – 0 thumping at the hand of Bridlington Town Academy.
