Ellis Saves Colts Blushes With Controversial Late Goal

The Humber Colts got out of jail thanks to a late strike from Craig Ellis to salvage a draw against AFC Blackburn Leisure.

The Colts fell behind in the first half and despite creating chances were unable to put the ball into the back of the net.

With less than five minutes to play new boy Ben Daniels header somehow fell into the path of Craig Ellis who swept home to grab the al important equaliser.

Ellis who appeared to be clearly offside peeled away in celebration while the referee was confronted by a less then happy AFC Blackburn Leisure players.

Manager of the Humber Colts Tony Henderson said;

“I felt we did everything we could to win the match.”

“Without question we defiantly deserved all three points, I am very happy with the performance of all the players.”

Henderson when quizzed about the goal and if he thought Ellis was off side said as he did not see it would not be fair to comment.
