The Tanners were beaten 2 – 0 by Humber Premier League Leaders Sculcoates Amateurs on Saturday.
Hodgson FC’s poor start to the match proved costly as they conceded two goals inside the first ten minutes.
For Lee Hastings this was his final match as manager of Hodgsons FC. Hastings has taken the club all the way to the Humber Premier League, although poor results and the introduction a reserve team mean the club needs to change.
It has been on the cards for some time and rumours about Hastings taking an administrative role within the club have been rife on the the local football scene but it appears will in fact leave the club and join Hall Road Rangers.
Rob Lever has been appointed as the manager, Andy Lane will be his assistant, with club skipper Paul Silvester continuing in his coaching role.
Lever’s second role is to help integrate the first team and second team. Since the formation of Hodgsons FC Reserves, players have been reluctant to play for both sides.
Lever said:
“It was Lee’s last game today but my 2nd in charge.”
“There were a few changes to the formation and style of play.”
“Scott-Jon Tyler is with the seconds to play 90 minutes and improve fitness.”
“The first and seconds need to be more interchangeable.”
“If a player is in form and playing well they will move up, it is that simple.”
“The club will be releasing a statement later in the week outlining all the changes and our plans for the future. “
When asked about transfers Lever refused to give any names, although he has hinted a couple of new players could be confirmed in the coming week.
He said:
“Any new players are welcome to contact me and we may unveil a couple of signings this week.”
“As soon as they are signed and the deal is done the club will make an announcement.”
