Worried About Unemployment? Why Not Set Up In Business

The cba Partnership is offering potential business owners a free consultation to investigate the suitability of self-employment.

Statistics from the Office of National Statistics showed that there are currently more people self-employed than there has ever been before. In fact, between August and October 2011, the number of self-employed workers increased by 166,000 to reach 4.14million people.

This is the highest rate since records began in 1992. In response, cba accountants would like to offer their support by way of a free advice session to consider a business idea and determine whether self-employment would be suitable and, if so which structure to use.

Sam Kay, accountant and business adviser says:

“Being made redundant may not be the worst thing to happen to an individual.”

“Some clients have commented it was actually the push required to kick-start a future as a successful business owner. Of course it is a stressful time which is why at cba accountants we feel it important to lend our knowledge and experience.”

“Being self-employed is not for everyone but most businesses are born out of a simple idea and we would like to help local entrepreneurs to develop their ideas to become established businesses.”

“Procrastination over the first steps can be avoided where a simple business plan and seeking out opportunities through networking might be all that stands between potential unemployment and being your own boss.”
