Beverley Business Women Helen Crofts and Becky Barnes said their special fund raising event a great success.
Helen who owns Crofts Cakes and Becky Miss Poppy’s Tea Party, two friends joined businesses together to host a Chari-tea Party in aid of Bliss.
Bliss, the special care baby charity, provides vital support and care to premature and sick babies across the UK.
They offer guidance and information at a critical time in families’ lives. They also fund groundbreaking research and campaign for babies to receive the best possible level of care regardless of when and where they are born.
The charity is very close to Helen’s heart as her son Joshua who turns 1 on Valentines Day was born 5 weeks premature and spent a short time in the neonatal unit at Hull Women and Children’s Hospital.
It was there that Helen received publications from Bliss offering support, once her and Joshua were back home she decided that she wanted to raise money for Bliss as she saw first hand just how much work the specialist nurses do around the clock to care for the babies in the neonatal unit.
The Chari-tea Party was a great success and the children enjoyed having their face painted and decorating cupcakes whilst the adults indulged in a cup of tea and a delicious cupcake!
