Beverley Folk Urged To Share Titanic Stories

The Beverley Community Museum would like to put on a small display to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic this April.

However, they need your help in finding objects and stories to put on display.

Fiona Jenkinson, curator of the Beverley Guildhall where the Community Museum is located, said:

“The idea for this display started when we were offered an object by a member of a Beverley family whose relative was believed to have been lost on the Titanic. At the moment, however, this and a small news story about Lord Londesborough are all we have to put on display.”

“We would like to hear from anybody who knows of local people who were lost or survived and can offer an object to loan or a story to tell.”

Anyone who has an item they can loan, or who can tell us local stories about the Titanic, should come to the Guildhall (next to the main post office) on any Friday between 10am and 4pm, or contact Fiona Jenkinson on (01482) 392783 or email fiona.jenkinson@eastriding.gov.uk
