Next Orienteering Challenge Is On Beverley Westwood

The location for the next Winter Orienteering Event organised by the Humberside and Lincolnshire Orienteers (HALO) is on Beverley Westwood on Saturday March 10th. Registration, Start and Finish will be close to Burton Bushes opposite the Racecourse Grandstand.

The Winter Events are aimed at beginners to the sport but always include a technical course for the more able.

There will be four courses as normal: White (junior beginners); Yellow (improving juniors); Orange (adult beginners and experienced juniors) and Technical (experienced Orienteers). Starts will be anytime between 1pm and 3pm.

Entry fees are £2 for adults and £1 for juniors. This includes free hire of the chips which are used for the electronic timing of the event. Harder courses can be attempted for no extra charge after successful completion of the easier courses.

The Beverley Westwood event will be the fifth in HALO’s 2012 Saturday league, the next two events are at Oasis Academy, Grimsby (March 31st) and at The Humber Bridge Country Park (April 21st).

Full details of the 2012 Saturday League and all events can be found on the HALO web-site (www.halo-orienteering.org.uk). The best four results from the available seven events count towards the league.

Further information is also available by emailing neil@halo-orienteering.org.uk

HALO also runs a weekly club night at Beverley Longcroft School on Mondays (6:30pm to 8:00pm) during term-time. New members always welcome. (Details available from email and web-site contacts as above).
