Mill Lane United went back to the top of the u14 East Riding Girls Football League with a convincing victory against a brave Preston side who battled for the full 70 minutes.
After the superb performace two nights earlier in the Tesco cup final it was alway going to be difficult for the Beverley side to meet their own high standard as several players were well down on energy levels.
Even so Mill Lane United still came away with a convincing victory against their spirited opponents with the highlights been the first 2 goals off the season from Chloe Johnstone in an unaccustomed midfield role (This is Chloes 2nd season with Mill Lane United after joining them from Driffield and her enthusiasm and progress is there for all to see as shes has developed into one of the best defenders in the league).
The final whistle went with Mill Lane United back on top chasing the League Title, but the whole of the Preston team should take great credit for battling to the end and enjoying their football every week.
Man of the matches for Mill Lane Amy Radford for a whole hearted display in midfield after been brough on as a substitute early into the game and Jodie Brown for a fine hatrick and leading from the front in a commited performance.
