United And Whitestar Share The Spoils

The second Beverley derby in as many weeks saw another hard fought battle between the two teams. Mill Lane United pushed forward from the kick off and would have taken the lead on several occasions if the final shot had found its target.

Beverley Whitestar defended resolutely and frustrated the Mill Lane team through some good disruption work in midfield. Whitestar also missed a golden opportunity to take the lead, the shot bobbling just wide of the post. Alex Clark, standing in as goalkeeper in the first half had little to trouble her. The sides went in at half-time 0-0.

In the second half Mill Lane United continued to press in the second half with Hope Barrett and Isobel Gillyon both shooting over or wide. Millie Gray and Ellie McMillan kept the defensive line tight to shut out Whitestar.

Eventually Mill Lane managed to bundle the ball over the Whitestar goal line. Isoblel Dodds, stand-in keeper for Mill Lane in the second half had little to trouble her until a swift counter attack saw Chloe Cook one on one with the keeper, neatly slotting the ball into the bottom corner.

The game drew to a frantic close with both teams searching for a winner.
