An emphatic 6-1 win saw AFC Tickton Cougars take the Drypool under 11 league title.
A Callum Wilkinson hat-trick and goals from Harry Bolt, Dan Taylor and Jamie Mist ensured the Cougars claimed the Drypool U11 Title as Invincibles.
Manager Pip Pearson was full of praise for his side he told HU17.net;
“This side ouze class from front to back. We have shown consistancey yet again winning our thrid title in a row. I am trully delighted for all the players.”
Third placed Hessle came needing to win to have any chance of winning the title however Tickton got off to a flying start when early pressure resulted in a corner that was poked into the Hessle goal.
The cougars never looked back .The hard working midfield , working tirelessly to win every ball , feeding the cougar wingers and forwards who were just too hot for Hessle to handle.
This, combined with the excellent control and pace of the forwards, not to mention a couple of screaming goals, saw AFC Tickton take a well deserved 4 nil lead into half time.
Hessle battled hard to get into the game but on the odd occasion they did escape the Tickton midfield the defence and keeper dealt with any threat with ease.
The second half saw the AFC Tickton midfield continue to dominate the game and soon extend the lead to 5 then 6 nil. By now Hessle were pushing everyone forward in a vain attempt to salvage something from the game.
Exposed Hessle yet somehow, mainly thanks to the excellent and brave Hessle keeper kept the score down to just six.
Hessle did score a consolation goal, but rarely posed any real threat against the hard working Tickton squad that by now knew they were champions.
Overall this was a near perfect display from Tickton cougars, worthy champions of the Drypool u11 league.
